The injection comes at a time when women’s football is going through a rough patch, with the elite league going for three years without a sponsor after parting ways with AT&T Monnakgotla.

Speaking at the handover, Botswana Football Association (BFA) president Tebogo Sebego said the development of women football in the country is at the core of their plans. “Women football development is at the heart of FIFA. There is a very clear agenda for us and the committee that would be voted in at the general assembly,” he said.
