The Women's Football League will be divided into two divisions next season. The league currently has 17 teams, but more are expected to join.

The top seven teams will make it to the elite league dubbed the Premier League, while the bottom ones will be relegated to the First Division. This was announced on Friday when the league sponsors AT&T Monnakgotla launched playing kits for the teams.

Although women's football is still struggling, league chairperson Senki Sesinyi feels the new format is necessary to avoid congestion because more teams will be joining.  Sesinyi believes that women's football has made tremendous strides in recent years and that dividing it is part of growth. He pleaded with AT&T Monnakgotla to sponsor both leagues once they are separated.
