Jwaneng Ladies Golf Club player Catherine Mosimanekwena is thrilled at her remarkable performance in the recently held Namibian Ladies Golf Open held in Windhoek, Namibia.

Mosimanekwena told Mmegi Sport yesterday that though it was not an overall gross or net, she was happy at what she had been able to accomplish on foreign greens. "I also gained much experience from this event and hope to achieve even more in next year's open," she said.
She said that though the event was quite challenging, she believes she can do much better next time. She said she would need to work on her short game, which was not up to scratch.
Mosimanekwena was however disappointed that since she organised everything for herself, she arrived in Namibia on Friday night and had to tee-off the next morning. She said that she did not have time to train and prepare for the Saturday rounds. She said that she arrived around 8pm on Friday.
Mosimanekwena told Mmegi Sport that she entered the Namibian Ladies Golf Open through an e-mail service.
She said that the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Sport together with the Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) should try to help so more Batswana women can compete in the event. She urged them to at least give support with the travel arrangements, saying there is only one bus that goes to Namibia. "I ran around looking for sponsors and I am happy that some like CIC Energy and other individuals gave a helping hand to make my trip possible," she said. She added that though it was not a team event, she should have been given support by BNSC as she was raising Botswana's flag high. "It was an individual event but still I was representing the country in a way since the name of my country was mentioned when I received the prize," she added.
She was also disappointed that she was the only entrant from Botswana, just as she was last year. She urged the women in local clubs to take part in next year's open, adding that the "Namibians always come" for the Botswana Ladies Golf Open. "They can also gain some invaluable experience by participating in this event." Sponsored by Bank Windhoek, the annual event was hosted by Windhoek Country Club last weekend.
