The Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) has announced the nominees

Football's Israel Malepa, Etsogile Ngwako of boxing, and karate's Jonathan Phiri will contest the umpire of the year award. Malepa is ahead and looks set to win this one. The FIFA referee handled the CAF Confederations Cup match between Namibia's Civics and Accra United besides taking charge at other continental games.

A fierce battle is expected for coach of the year award between Isiah Mogwadi of Police XI, Kabo Ntshinogang of Mafolofolo volleyball club and boxing's Johannnes Dithabang.
