On and off the pitch, it has been a difficult season for TAFIC. Their perennial financial woes have been complicated this season by the loss of key players like Kago Nfila and Obonye Moswate. The battle for control of the club has had a negative impact on performance, as some supporters tried to oust chairperson, Humphrey Nawa. TAFIC are languishing at the bottom of the log with 18 points after 23 matches. By this time last season, the club had scooped 24 points and occupied 10th spot. They need a miracle in the last seven matches to survive. This weekend, they take on fellow relegation candidates, Orapa United. They still have unfinished business with BDF XI, Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Gaborone United and Township Rollers, who are all vying for the title. TAFIC coach, Darlington Dodo has reportedly said they can still pull a Houdini act and survive relegation.
