Who is fooling who?

The feud between Botswana Football Association (BFA) and coach of the national Under-23 side David Bright has taken another twist.

Former Zebras' coach, Veselin 'Vasco' Jelusic has been roped in to handle the junior side in a desperate move after Bright boycotted the team's training camp demanding a contract. Bright's boycott seems to have wrong-footed the BFA, coming at a time when the Young Zebras face a must win tie next week against visiting Morocco in the qualifiers for next year's Olympics in Beijing, China. Chances are that Jelusic might be in charge of the team for the Morocco encounter if the BFA fail to lure back Bright.

By yesterday, the BFA chief executive officer Tosh Kgotlele said they are negotiating with Bright and they hope for the best. "Bright is not happy with what he is getting and we are prepared to listen to him. I think we will get a solution because it is the pride of the nation which is at stake here," Kgotlele said. He refused to confirm or deny that the BFA had demanded that Bright must quit as coach of Premier League giants, Township Rollers before he is employed fulltime as national Under-23 tactician. "No sir. Let us put that one (Rollers issue) aside because it might mess up everything and concentrate on the national team," Kgotlele parried.
