The country's small population cannot be advanced as an excuse for the failure to excel at international level. Famous American author and humorist, Mark Twain once observed: "It is not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog that matters". Pride can only be achieved through consistent and disciplined performances. It is undisputable that the Zebras were the pride of the nation at the height of their brilliant displays under Serbian Veselin Jelusic. The Vision 2012, a brain-child of former Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) chairperson, Boyce Sebetela, is under strain, three years to its deadline.
