What next for the 'dead' Zebras?

When Serbian, Veselin Jelusic was appointed as the national team coach almost eight years ago, some people were skeptical about his abilities and with good reason.

 The man spent a short-stint here as head coach of Mochudi Centre Chiefs before moving to Angola. But the Botswana Football Association (BFA) ignored crititics and roped in Jelusic and national team coach and within no time, he had convinced even his harshest detractors.

The Zebras recorded steady progress from the 2006 World Cup and African Nations Cup preliminary game against Lesotho in 2003 at the National Stadium. On the day, the Zebras ran riot scoring four goals past Lesotho to reach the group stages. The nation was excited though some dismissed the victory saying Likuena have always been easy 'meat' for the Zebras.
