Weight problems in the ring

The much-publicised women boxing match between Tsitsi Pearl Morake and Othilia Stimela on Saturday in Francistown was a non-event after the latter failed the weight test.

The two women were scheduled to face off in front of hundreds of spectators but Stimela clocked 80 kilograms to exceed the desired 75 kilograms to match her opponent. Stimela said she had trained very hard for a month or so trying to reduce her weight.

"This is not going to demoralise me at all. I will continue training hard to reduce my weight," said Othilia.
