The end of the first round of the Mascom Volleyball League has been pushed back to next week because of the backlog of matches that piled up due to bad weather. Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) vice president George Keotsene has said a number of matches cancelled because of rain are yet to be played, hence the first round cannot end this weekend as originally planned.

He stated that delay will not affect other programmes and the start of the second round in September. The federation will hold a coaching course and a general assembly during the break. Keotsene said they have learnt vital lessons that will be useful in making the second round better.

He said they will find a way of reducing the number of times clubs travel to play matches and sort out the problem of venues.
