Walker gracious in British open defeat

Seven-time PSA title winner Alister Walker deserves full credit for putting up a fight against World number one squash star James Willstrop in the British Open that ended on Saturday.

The top seed James Willstrop had to work hard for his 3-1 win over his former training partner, Walker to qualify for the last eight. The match went on for 79 minutes with a lot of safe play and a lot of decisions required of the referees - mainly resulting in lets.

The Botswana star, Walker, took the lead 11-9 after a 31-minute first game and although Willstrop leveled 11-7 he found himself behind again in the third. A run of points brought him level at 6-all and another five in a row saw him take the lead, carrying that momentum into the fourth which he took 11-5.
