Volleyball team needs psychologist

National volleyball coach Kabo Ntshinogang has said his players need a psychologist to help them withstand tough situations. "In terms of skill, the team is okay.

I think they just need to be given confidence that they can do it despite the odds," Ntshinogang said. He explained that he has identified the team's shortcomings ahead of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers to be held in Cairo, Egypt from August 15.

The coach was speaking after the weekend friendlies against Zimbabwe. Botswana won the first match 3-1 in Otse on Saturday before losing by a similar score in the second match on Sunday in Thebephatshwa.  Ntshinogang said it was apparent that the team needs a psychologist to help the players withstand tough situations.  He attributed the loss in Thebephatshwa to cold weather.  He said they will focus on training during cold days in order to adapt to the situation. Ntshinogang explained that complacency and loss of concentration is another factor that made the team lose to Zimbabwe.
