Volleyball squad off to Kenya

The creme-la-de-creme of women's volleyball left for Nairobi, Kenya, yesterday for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) that starts on Wednesday.

Nine countries, including powerhouses Algeria and Egypt, are expected to take part.

Though the national team may be going into the competition as underdogs assistant coach Isaac Samuel still fancies his team's chances of going all the way. Samuel added that their dream is to reach the medal stages. "But even if we don't we still hope to learn vital lessons in the competition," he said. Botswana is currently ranked sixth in Africa and Samuel said their wish is to use the games to improve their rankings.
