Three teams which are supposed to participate in the Africa Zone VI Volleyball Club Championships in Lusaka, Zambia, face uncertainties, as the trip has not been confirmed yet.

Already, a fourth club, Mafolofolo has opted out while the remaining three, BDF VI, Diphatsa (men) and Kutlwano (women) are still to know their fate. The competition runs from November 19-24. The four qualified by virtue of being champions and runner-ups in the Capital Motors tournament. Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) was supposed to finance BDF VI and Kutlwano teams as champions while runners-up Diphatsa and Mafolofolo were expected to sponsor themselves. BVF officials (BVF) sports development officer, Mission Mereyotlhe would not say whether the teams would travel, with finance seemingly the stumbling block.

Mereyotlhe told Mmegi Sport the executive was supposed to meet later yesterday over the issue. He confirmed financial difficulties, but said the meeting will chart the way forward. Mafolofolo coach, Kabo Ntshinogang said they decided against travelling due to financial constraints. Mafolofolo are the women's defending champions.Ntshinogang said they have been struggling to honour away local league matches and taking part in the club championship was not going to be possible.
