Volleyball Coach Dismisses Regional Tournament

National men volleyball team coach Kabo Ntshinogang has said the Zone VI tournament that starts in Malawi today is a waste of time.

He stated before the team left on Friday that if he had the power, he would have cancelled the trip to Malawi. Besides Botswana and the hosts, only Lesotho will take part in the event. Though they have always been concerned over the poor attendance of the tournament, Ntshinogang said this year is the worst in terms of participation. "Normally there will be about five or six countries," he said. He lamented that they are not going to get any competition from the two countries taking part in this year's event. He said before the team left, the players' morale was low because they were not excited about the competition. The Botswana team is preparing for the Africa Cup to be held in Morocco at the end of the month.

Nevertheless, Ntshinogang said the team is well prepared for the event. He said though they did not have enough training, he is positive that they will do well considering that they do not expect much competition.
