Volleyball coach decries lack of warm-up games

National women's volleyball team coach, Samuel Isaac, has said his charges could have done better in the recent World Championships qualifiers if they had played more international friendly matches.

The team finished fourth in the six-nation qualifiers. Botswana beat Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Nigeria but fell to Cameroon, Egypt and Algeria.

Before they participated in the qualifiers, Botswana played Kenya and Tunisia in friendly matches. Samuel said playing Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt was an uphill battle but he believes the team could have done better if the players had more training matches.
