Volleyball coach blames poor preparations

Botswana women national team finished second last at the six-nation Africa Cup in Algeria because of poor preparations, the coach has said. Isaac Samuel said if preparations for international tournaments are not revised, Botswana teams will continue to struggle.

At the Africa Cup, Botswana lost to Algeria, Cameroon and Senegal and won against Morocco. Samuel said Botswana was at par with their opponents, but at the tournament Botswana was let down by poor preparations.

He stated that national teams do not get sufficient time to train. "It really pained me to see my charges succumbing to teams that they could have beaten just because we did not have enough training," Samuel said.
