Unheralded Cairns thrusts into bowls limelight

Mmegi Sport: Who is Patrick Cairns?
Cairns: I am 33 years old. I was born in South Africa and have been  residing in Botswana since 2010.

Mmegi Sport: When did you start playing bowls?
Cairns: I began playing bowls in Klerksdorp, South Africa in 2008. Klerksdorp is one of the biggest clubs in the North West province and it was a great place to get a foundation in the game. Apart from having a number of really skilled players, the club atmosphere was always excellent and very responsive to newcomers.
