Under-20 prepare for Namibia with Zim friendly

The national Under-20 women football team will meet their Zimbabwe counterparts in an international friendly at the UB Stadium tomorrow to prepare for the return leg of the World Cup qualifier against Namibia.

Botswana Under-20 coach, Thembinkosi Takobana said the will use match to avenge the 2-0 loss they suffered from Zimbabwe in the Zone VI finals last year. She stated that though the game against Zimbabwe is a friendly, they want to win to give players confidence ahead of the Namibia clash. Botswana beat Namibia 2-1 in the first leg last Friday. Takobana believes her team's play has improved and they will use the Zimbabwe game to correct their weaknesses. The team showed class in the first leg against Namibia and if they maintain the tempo it can qualify for the second round. The winner of the Botswana-Namibia match will meet DRC in the second round. Botswana first took part in the World Cup qualifiers in 2007 when it was knocked out by Ghana after going past Lesotho. Takobana is confident that the exposure and the experience that they acquired from the previous qualifier will put them in good stead to make it to the 2010 finals in Germany.
