Harare assignement: The Under- 18 basketball teams left for Harare yetsterday

Botswana’s Under-18 boys and girls’ basketball teams left the country yesterday for Zimbabwe where they are scheduled to play in the Zone VI qualifying tournament, which starts in Harare on Saturday.

Each team consists of 12 players and the boys’ team will fight to qualify for the Federation of International Basketball Associations (FIBA) Under-18 Africa Championship scheduled for Rwanda in September, while the girls’ equivalent tournament takes place in Egypt in October.

Kago Gabobepe coaches the boys’ team while Ditiro Mothibedi leads the girls’ side. Botswana will join hosts, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia and Mozambique in the Zone VI qualifiers.
