UB Crystals beat a diminished Jungle Queens side 55-31 in a fast-paced Spar Good For You Netball league match played on Saturday in Gaborone.

Queens clearly missed the services of their inspirational captain Lilian Rankgwe and their most reliable GD, Opelo Setshwano. They let their opponents get off to a flying start, turning the game frantic from early on as both sides scrapped for the ball. Within the first few minutes, a strong desire to win became evident on both teams.

Crystals' play was more measured in the opening stages of the game and as such, the majority of possession remained with their attack. The energy was high from both sides, overflowing at times into quite ferocious play with pressure seemingly getting to both teams, but momentum stayed with Crystals and they finished the first quarter topping the score-sheet 14-9.
