Transfer window unusually quiet

The current transfer window, which opened on August 1 and closes on September 30 has been unusually quiet. This is a sharp contrast to the buzz associated with past transfer windows.

Some believe the absence of the Kabelano Charity Cup has contributed to the slow start to the transfer window. The cup offer clubs a good opportunity to parade their new signings in the off-season. More than two weeks after the window opened, the Premier League Committee (PLC) says no player has transferred - officially. 

However, activity is expected to pick in the coming days with big name players on the move. Already there are latent pointers of who is going where.
