Top ref calls for review commission

The Football Referees Commission chairperson Harris Lebotse says there is need for the establishment of a referees' review committee.

Lebotse said it is difficult for referees to reverse their decision even where they know they erred because they are not empowered to do so. He added that the review committee would help with post-match reviews.

He admitted that match officials just like other human beings make mistakes. Lebotse's comments come in the wake of the introduction of penalties for players who are yellow-and-red carded during a game. Some soccer lovers have expressed reservations about these Botswana Football Association (BFA)-imposed fines. Players will pay P50 for the first offence and P100 for being sent off.
