Timetable nightmare for U-19 softball team

The school calendar is expected to adversely impact girls' Under-19 softball junior team's camp roster ahead of the July ISF X Junior World Championship in Brampton, Canada. The tournament will take place from July 1-7, which leaves the team with only the April school holidays to hold a camp for a period longer than a week.

A 15-day holiday after the first term is the longest in the school calendar while the team will be expected to leave soon after schools close on June 28.

Botswana Softball Association (BSA) president Tirelo Mukokomani said the team would regroup in Gaborone for a weekend camp in a fortnight. But the BSA boss ruled out the possibility of a longer camp because most of the players are school children.
