The junior national athletics team coach, Mogomotsi Otsetswe is impressed by the performance of Baboloki Thebe and Karabo Sibanda ahead of the Rio Olympic Games in Brazil. Sibanda brought home a bronze medal while Thebe reached the finals of the 400-metre finals and was favourite to lift the title until he was disqualified for line infringement.  The two formed part the 4x400m relay team, which scooped a silver medal. Otsetswe told Mmegi Sport yesterday that the two are ready for Rio.

“I have been monitoring their progress since the Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) national championships. They registered good times that saw them qualifying for the Olympics. We then went for the Africa Senior Championships held in Durban and the trend was the same,” he said.
