But information reaching Monitor Sport indicates that Gaborone's exit has long been coming. Towards the end of last season, Gaborone was relegated to the bench and the arrival of former Nico United midfielder Kebatlogetse 'Go-man' Batsweletse further showed that his days at GU were numbered.
In an interview with Monitor Sport over the weekend, Gaborone said that he was surprised when he was told that he was 'a surplus' to the Reds. This is despite, according to him, the fact that he had played 27 times for Moya-go-leele during the past season.
"Their decision is not based on my performance because there are some players who under-performed but are still with the club," he charged. The midfielder said that he had long realised that he would be kicked out of GU camp because he had an unhealthy relationship with one of the managers. Gaborone further said that he is looking forward to the next season with BDF XI. "I chose BDF XI because I believe that they are better organised," he said.
