The 'Invest in Africa' Cup of Nations Twitter Predictor Launched

Invest in Africa last Thursday launched its Africa Cup of Nations Twitter Predictor which will run throughout the tournament.

Ahead of each match in the tournament, Invest in Africa will tweet a key statistic about the competing nations on its Twitter channel @investin_africa and 'predict' the outcome of the on-the-field encounter based on relative data indicators. These statistics will demonstrate the economic potential across Africa and promote the case that Africa is a credible business destination with impressive growth for investors and one that compares favourably to other emerging markets. For example, the opening match between South Africa and Cape Verde saw the following tweeted by @investin_africa: South Africa 60 percent mobile phone saturation v Cape Verde 55 percent. IIA predicted SA win #AFCON #InvestinAfrica

The 'Invest in Africa' Cup of Nations Twitter Predictor is hosted on the @investin_africa Twitter account during one of Africa's leading sports events - the Africa Cup of Nations, which began in South Africa on January 19 and will run until  February 10, 2013.  Said William Pollen, Programme Director at Invest in Africa: "The Africa Cup of Nations presents another fantastic opportunity to showcase Africa as a leading business destination.  We want sports fans, investors and businesses globally to see the unique opportunities which Africa's continual development presents them.
