Courtesy of Multichoice Botswana and Supersport International, Mmegi Staff Writer, BOITUMELO KHUTSAFALO was among a select group of journalists from Botswana who travelled to Durban to watch South Africa's biggest derby featuring Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. The match took place a day before the port city hosted the draw for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. He narrates his personal experiences and the mood before the draw.

On landing at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg, we were met by Supersport International Marketing Coordinator (Africa), Itumeleng Senne, who was to take care of us in Durban until we return. Before leaving OR Tambo, I notice Orlando Pirates' youth team coach, Augusto Palacios. He was going to Durban. I also notice the New Zealand cricket team who were set to play South Africa on the day of the draw for the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup.

We arrive at Durban International Airport at 11.45am to find the air buzzing with excitement. We hire a car for the day and immediately head straight to the ABSA Stadium where the derby between the two Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates was to take place. The city centre is colourful as Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs' flags are flying high on the windows of taxis and cars. Pedestrians also painted the city with black, white and gold. Before we reach the ABSA Stadium, Senne shows us the new 70,000-seater Moses Mabhida Stadium, which will host some of the games of the 2010 World Cup. It is situated right next to ABSA Stadium and the construction workers are busy on the site.
