The Departure Of A Loyal Servant

After 12 years of loyal service Godfrey 'Simba' Makgarapa has left Jwaneng Comets. The former skipper departed during the January transfer window to join his home club, BR Highlanders in Mahalapye.

The crafty midfielder does not have any regrets about joining the minnows. "Comets was like a family to me. They did a lot of things for me from the time I joined them until I left.

Even when the club was experiencing financial difficulties, they never turned their back on me," Makgarapa said. While playing for Comets, he has always been highly rated by teammates and opponents alike but he has very little to show for it. His major achievement during his long career at Comets is reaching the final of the 1998 Coca-Cola Cup.
