The battle of coaches

When Mochudi Centre Chiefs host Township Rollers tomorrow in the clash of the weekend, the main focus will be on the coaching personnel. The game sees Rollers' new head coach Daniel 'Chicco' Nare coming up against his past immediate boss Mike 'Dubula-Dubula' Sithole of Chiefs. Together with Sithole, Nare has been credited with turning the fortunes of Chiefs this season and fashioning a squad challenging for the title. But Nare shocked many people by crossing over to Popa to the utter chagrin of fuming Chiefs' officials.

Magosi have promised to beat Nare in his first game-in-charge when the two sides meet tomorrow. On the other hand, this is a chance for Sithole to prove his mettle, as many believed that it was Nare who has been behind the success of Chiefs this season. Now the moment of the truth has come and both coaches have said that they are ready for the big day.

"There is no special preparation and this is a game like any other. The only difference is that I'm facing a team which I've had a good time with," Nare told Mmegi Sport yesterday. He conceded that Chiefs' players would want to prove a point to him while Rollers' players would like to rise to the occasion and end their poor run. Nare said that he still has a soft spot for Chiefs but Magosi should understand that he has a job to do at Rollers.
