The 20-year-old brain behind the new karate logo

Young karateka Baone Eureka Radiposo embodies the Setswana adage 'se bonnye bo kana mafoko se a tsaya kae (dynamites come in small packages)'. The 20-year-old proved that she is not only an explosive karateka and that her connection with the game is beyond just being a player. She is the little brain behind the recently launched Botswana Karate Association (BOKA) logo.

Unlike in most cases where organisations outsource such tasks, BOKA searched within and Radiposo's logo came out tops among the eight submitted. At 20, Radiposo will have her job seen all over the world. The logo depicts a karate belt knot painted blue, black and white. The third year University of Botswana (UB) architecture student said her love for art came in handy. But coming up with the final product was however, not easy for the Shakawe born lass. How then did she finally settle for the karate belt knot?

"What one should consider is that they are creating an identity for an organisation. So you should try and create something that will match with the purpose of that particular establishment," she told Mmegi Sport. Radiposo said it is also critical to keep the brand simple for easy communication with every stakeholder with colours arranged in a visually appealing way. "Most importantly the logo should be unique and stand out among the millions that already exist,"she said.
