Local clubs got to fine-tune their preparations during a four-team tournament played at SSKB over the weekend with most of them trying out their new signings.

Gunners and BDF XI kicked off the tourney, playing a goalless draw with strikers from both sides fluffing chances.Gunners had a good first half though they were too slow going forward, but in the second half they were cowed probably because of fatigue. The country's CAF Confederation Cup representatives' lack of depth was exposed during the game. They used seven new players with four starting the game, while three were introduced in the second half.

Gunners are adapting to life without Kgololo Leteane who is now at Gaborone United and BMC's new signing Hendrick Moyo. The two have been the Lobatse side's bedrock in recent seasons. Their departure has left captain Ofentse Mmipi with a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. Gunners' coach Maxwell Moyo admits it will not be easy this time around."We hope these boys grow up as early as possible because games are starting next week," he told Sport Monitor.
