FRANCISTOWN: TASC began their campaign in the My Spar My Botswana northern zone league like a house on fire by beating TAFIC and Sua Flamingos under scorching heat at the Francistown College of Technical and Vocational Education grounds.

In the first game of the season, TAFIC and Sua Flamingos produced a back-and-forth affair, scoring six apiece in the opening quarter before TAFIC edged the second 13-12. In the beginning of the third quarter, TAFIC reshuffled their pack sending goalkeeper, Moatshe Galebuswe forward to a goal shooter position and the move proved beneficial as she contributed 11 goals as Matjimenyenga won 30-25.

In the Francistown derby, TAFIC faced a youthful Tango Girls who quickly went 19-2 in the opening quarter. Young Pretty Never (15) dominated the centre of the court and her combination with a tall and well-built goal shooter Cheludo David was a marvel to watch.
