Tanian register first win of the season

FRANCISTOWN: Struggling Tanian Volleyball Club collected their first set of maximum points of the season after beating an equally fraught Victory Seekers 3-1 at Serowe College of Education hall last Saturday.

Tanian, the only volleyball side based in Serowe, went into Saturday's match on the back of eight losses and they could not afford to continue with their losing streak.Stone Mekgwe and his charges finally got it right. Mekgwe executed some tactical proficiency, and his boys implemented the instructions and got the better of the visiting Lobatse-based outfit to emerge the winners of the game.

The former Tanian blocker infused the new blood and experience; and this worked for him seeing how the young boys produced some good play. Young boys like Maratho Mothusi and Tiroyamodimo Seakanyeng were on top of the game- much to the delight of their head coach.Mekgwe decided to scout for talented volleyball players from junior and senior schools in Serowe following reports of indiscipline and lack of commitment among the club's senior players. The decision proved to be what the doctor had prescribed. Some of the senior players are reportedly now forced to attend training schedule in order to maintain their positions at the club.
