Francistown Premier League side, TAFIC suffered a tragedy when two of its officials died in a car accident on Sunday morning. Welfare manager, Phillip Dayton and a member of the supporters' committee, Peter Modisenyane perished on their way to Francistown from Gaborone where they accompanied the team to play against Gaborone United on Saturday.

The fatal accident occurred just before Palapye.  TAFIC spokesman, Jones Mosweu, said there were two other passengers in the Nissan Premia sedan that the two officials were traveling with. He was informed by one of the survivors that Dayton, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then overturned three times. Mosweu said Dayton and Modisenyane were certified dead at the hospital while the two passengers only sustained minor injuries.

He described the deaths as a great loss to football. He said both officials have played a critical role in the club for a long time. "When I grew up I found them at TAFIC." He said players regarded Dayton as their father and called him daddy to show how they revered him.  "He was like our players' father," he said.
