TAFIC mentor bemoans lack of depth

FRANCISTOWN: Newly appointed TAFIC coach, Newman Gaobone believes that lack of depth coupled with inexperience is the reason the club has fared poorly in the last few games.

The coach made the remarks after watching his side go down 3-1 to Nico United on Sunday. In the last four games, the Francistown based outfit have only managed a 2-0 victory against another struggling side, Great North Tigers (GNT) before losing to Miscellaneous. TAFIC lost to Fighters a fortnight ago before the Nico defeat.

"At this stage of the season we need enough players who are also experienced because that is when most players begin to experience fatigue and injuries. We currently do not have enough players at TAFIC and we have of late struggled to replace the injured or fatigued. That is why we have been under-performing," Gaobone said. Against Nico United, he said the team had to sacrifice key Zimbabwean midfielder, Tafadzwa Maingiri to replace centre back Chakazha Pharo who is nursing an injury.
