TAFIC, GNT lock horns in derby

FRANCISTOWN: TAFIC and struggling Great North Tigers (GNT) will renew their rivalry when they clash in a Debswana First Division North duel at the Francistown Stadium on Sunday.

TAFIC have had mixed fortunes in the competition with two wins, two losses and two draws in six outings. TAFIC however go into the match with confidence after a 1-0 victory against Green Lovers in Serowe last weekend. Normalcy has been restored in the team’s technical team after the appointment of Atshele Molapi as head coach.

Their opponents, GNT has endured a dip in form, only managing four points in the five games they have played so far. GNT are second from bottom in the 12-team league and get solace in the fact that form does not usually dictate the outcome in derbies. In the first derby of the season, GNT held TASC to a draw despite their poor form prior to the match.
