Sweet victory for Fighters

Mogoditshane Fighters launched the second round of the Mascom Premier League on a winning note when they beat Township Rollers 1-0 at the UB Stadium on Wednesday night.

This was sweet revenge for the Fighters who lost by the same margin to Rollers in the opening round.

Though both teams had been struggling in the first round, they dished out exciting football that kept many spectators at the edge of their seats. But should Rollers have been more patient and composed in front of goal, they could have buried Fighters. However, Fighters deserve commendation for fighting until the final whistle. Rollers missed some few key players, including striker Bernard Semakwezi, Gabriel Bokhutlo and Thebeetsile Raditsebe while Fighters' attacking midfielder Kitso Kowa was also missing. With Patrick Kasongo not at his usual best in the Rollers' middle of the park, Mapalastina struggled to retain possession especially after trailing. This allowed Masego Ntshingane to dictate terms for the Fighters throughout the game.
