The much-awaited four-team tournament billed for the National Stadium in Gaborone tonight has already set tongues wagging.

The tournament will feature Mascom Premier League giants Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Extension Gunners; and South African Premier League sides Moroka Swallows and Jomo Cosmos. In the opening game scheduled to kick-off at 7pm, Gunners take on Cosmos. Since the season started, Gunners have shown potential but have been let down by inconsistency. The recent resignation of coach Clever Hunda has not helped matters and it will be interesting to see how they cope under caretaker coach Kenanao Ramaphoi.

Gunners' spokesperson Cassim Dada told Mmegi Sport yesterday that they are fired for this weekend's tournament. He said the club hopes to learn a lot from playing the South African Premier League side. "Cosmos is a tough side but we hope to give them a run," he said. Dada added that though they are without a head coach, they hope that Ramaphoi do the job in the tournament. He added that they will use the game to unveil the new players which have been signed during the current transfer period. Mapantsula have added Abednico Powell (ECCO City Greens), Monametsi 'Sunday' Kelebale and Abueng 'Stone' Dijogadifele (both from Nico United). "The presence of these players will help some of our youngsters to excel," he said.
