Botswana Tennis Association (BTA) president, Oshika Tsiang will not stand for re-election as former player Oaitse Thipe angles for the position.

BTA affiliates may be in for a surprise or two with confirmed reports being that incumbent public relations officer, Nelson Amanze, is likely to stand for the presidency. Amanze confirmed being approached by some affiliates to stand for the position, but would not confirm whether he acceded to the suggestions.

"Some affiliates approached me to stand for chairmanship but I have not yet agreed nor declined," Amanze said. Amanze said  Oshika, who has been in office since 2010, will not run for re-election."He is definitely not standing - he has told me," he added. The majority of the members of the outgoing committee are not standing.
