Sports View unveils invitational races plan

Sports View, home to World 400 m etres champion, Amantle Montsho, unveils its invitational races plan next week. The maiden event is set for April 14 in Gaborone. The club's spokesperson, Glody Dube, said the idea is to give local athletes exposure by getting them to race against some of the best names in the continent.

"We are planning to have invitational races in Botswana like in Europe. We invite guys from Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The race is run on an invitational basis. We pick the best athletes for each race," Dube told Mmegi Sport.

The club will officially launch the initiative at the Tlokweng College of Education (TCE) on Monday afternoon.Dube said preparations for the maiden event were already at an advanced stage. He said that they have identified athletes who are currently doing well internationally for the April event.
