Botswana's meteoric rise in netball has touched new heights following three players' invitation to join the Singapore Super League, a first for the country.

The three are national team players goal defender Kagisano Mawela, 29, shooter Tebogo Radipotsane, 25, and goal defender Ntebogang Motlakaloso, 20, who were spotted following their exploits during the 2011 World Netball Championships, which Singapore hosted.

The players will be based in Singapore from March 20 to April 29, and Botswana Netball Association (BONA) president, Tebogo Lebotse is naturally elated. She believes the move will open new avenues for other players as well. "This is a great development. Although Singapore is ranked lower than Botswana, in terms of organisation they are ahead of us. Their strategy is very clear. They have an experienced coach and I hope the girls will learn a lot while in Singapore," she told Mmegi Sport in Gaborone yesterday.
