Shito-Ryu tournament hailed a success

The chairperson of the Botswana Shito-Ryu Federation, Sensei Thupa Thupa, has hailed the third annual tournament that was held on Saturday at Botswana Karate Association Training Centre as a great success.

Sensei Thupa said both the participants and officials came on time, adding that the proceedings went smoothly. “There were no hiccups. It was a success,” he said.

Thupa said even the standard of the tournament was high looking at the commitment of the athletes. The tournament was an open championship for all styles.  The participants in the championship were both young and adult karatekas who competed in kumite and kata styles.
