Seven Under-17 teams are scheduled to represent Botswana at the Confederation of Southern African School Sports Association (COSASSA) games, which start in Mbabane, Swaziland today.

Botswana will be represented in soccer, volleyball, basketball and netball. The teams under the aegis of the Botswana Integrated Sports Associations (BISA) left by road to Mbabane yesterday. Before departure, a farewell dinner was held for the players on Monday at Gaborone Senior Secondary School (GSSS). At the event, speakers urged the young athletes to be good ambassadors of the country.

GSSS headmaster, Mosimanegape Mophuting encouraged the players to be disciplined to protect the image of the country. "Sports people are normally a disciplined lot, and I hope you will represent us well and concentrate on the task at hand, that is playing sport and winning. I also hope you will do us proud as this team has done extremely well in the past years," Mophuting said.
