Sethibe named acting BFA in-charge

Following the departure of Judge Mookodi from the Botswana Football Association (BFA) hot seat last Friday, technical director Tlhagiso 'Sonnyboy' Sethibe has been appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective today.

BFA President David Fani confirmed this to Sport Monitor on Friday. He said while the search for a new CEO continues, Sethibe will double task as the CEO. Surprisingly, when contacted with the news on the same day, Sethibe was in the dark about his new appointment saying he had not been informed yet. "Is that so? I do not know anything yet, maybe they will tell me later," was Sethibe's response.

Sethibe was appointed technical director in June last year, thus filling a vacancy left by Sikalame 'Six' Keatlholetswe who had taken up a coaching post at BDF XI. It remains to be seen whether the former FIFA development officer will cope with running two offices that are equally demanding. With the Zebras having already qualified for the 2012 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) coming in less than five months, the CEO's office should be the busiest in terms of spearheading the team's preparations. Sethibe's first task will probably be to prepare for the Zebras final AFCON qualifier away to Togo on September 3.
