Extension Gunners' striker, Bernard 'Marcopolo' Simakwezi scored a hat-trick against his former team BDF XI to prove critics wrong in a thrilling game at Lobatse Stadium on Saturday.

The two teams had gone to the break tied at 1-1 after Simakwezi opened the score in the 34th minute after connecting with a well-timed cross from defender Finki 'Mathaousand' Mothibi from the right. The Zambian blasted a super shot past Khalid Niyonzima to send supporters into ruptures of celebration. But a lapse in concentration allowed Mokgathi 'Pro' Mokgathi to pull one back for BDF.

The military side should have taken the lead four minutes into the game when Jones Kwape's easy tap-in went through the net causing havoc on the field with BDF players and officials protesting to referee Kutlwano Leso to award them a goal all in vain.
