Selebi-Phikwe continued its dominance in local tennis after amassing 23 of the 66 medals on offer in the second edition of the annual Electric Junction Tennis tournament on Saturday in Gaborone.

Rising star, Innocent Tidimane won the Under-14 boys' singles title, beating Emmanuel Mabechu in an exciting all Selebi-Phikwe final. The duo, coached by Wellington Sibanda gave each other a hard time on the court. They served the good crowd with some breath-taking tennis but it was Tidimane, a student at the Pretoria High Performance Training Centre, who emerged victorious. Mabechu lost grip in the second set as he appeared to suffer lapses in concentration. The pint-sized Tidimane took full advantage and his powerful backhand floored Mabechu. Tidimane won 6-4, 6-2.

The boys' Under-18 doubles match was another exciting affair, which pitted singles gold medallist, Dimpho Legoreng and partner Similo Sibanda against Aobakwe Lekang and Allan Phetogo. Phetogo and Lekang won the first set 6-7, before succumbing 6-1 in the second. Legoreng and Sibanda won the decider 10-4.
