Satmos lament man-made relegation

Selebi-Phikwe side, FC Satmos have said they have come to terms with fact that they will be playing in the lower division next season. The Cheetahs’ survival is hanging by the thread with only a miracle needed to save them.

They will be this season’s beMOBILE Premiership’s first casualty tomorrow if they register anything less than a win when they take on Nico United in the Selebi-Phikwe derby. Their victory will still be a dead rubber if Green Lovers, who are currently occupying position 13 on the log, get at least a draw in their game against Miscellaneous. Satmos have collected just six points from 24 games and are yet to taste victory this season. They have scored just 15 goals and conceded a whooping 60 goals. The maximum points they can reach in the remaining games are 24, which are currently being held by Green Lovers in position 13.

“We are not even worried about Saturday’s game because we have accepted we cannot avoid relegation. What we will be doing in the remaining fixtures including this weekend’s game is to try and build a team that will ensure that we make a quick return to the Premier League. Even if we get P1 million somewhere tomorrow, we have decided that we are not going to waste it trying to save the team from relegation. We will use it to try and survive in the lower division and come back,” the club chairperson, Monnakgotla Mojaki said yesterday.
