Satmos bow out despite late surge

Selebi-Phikwe side, FC Satmos became the first Premier League side to bite the dust in the relegation battle following their 2-1 loss to Notwane on Saturday. They return to the lower division after just a season in the elite league.

The loss means with only two games in hand, Satmos can only reach 25 points, which is not enough to guarantee survival. Three teams that finish in the last three positions are automatically relegated to the First Division.

Miscellaneous, in position 13, hold the 'safety position, while there is still work for Notwane and Great North Tigers (GNT). Notwane supporters were given little hope after their side's victory against Satmos. Following a series of poor results, their fans would be hoping that this victory can help restore the much-needed confidence going into the last two games.
