Uniao Flamingo Santos have grabbed three points after overcoming Rolling Boys through Mpho Kgaswane’s strike in a Debswana First Division match played at SSG Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Boys came into the game without their two central defenders, Osenyeng Ntwampe and Steve Luchinya who are suspended. Eric Batlatsi was also absent and Junior Gaboitsiwe was relegated to the bench. The side was playing its first game without their coach, Wire Kaelo who was sacked last week. The game started with Boys pushing for an early lead. Gomolemo Ramabya scored for Boys through a header in the 12th minute after receiving a pass from Mogomotsi Keabaitse but the goal was ruled offside. Three minutes later, Mpho Ramodimo averted danger from a shot by Boy Mokgweetsi of Santos in a fast paced game where both sides showed urgency. Buang Diphebe missed the target by a whisker in the 28th minute as Boys piled pressure. Kgaswane broke the deadlock in the 36th minute when he pounced on a ball from a set-piece outside the box to power.

Boys went on attack at the start of the second half to level matters but were undone by a combination of wastefulness and the heroics of Tshepho Kgotlamotho in the Santos’ goal. Tebogo Kenosi connected well with a pass from Kgaswana in the 54th minute and Ramodimo dealt with the danger comfortably.
